Best price doesn't always mean best. Go for a tried and trusted retailer who has a good reputation of dealing with issues should they arise.

For example www.discounttv.co.uk

..PJ

PS good choice btw, both are great PJs!

I already purchased one from where i work here in kansas. We sell plenty of Hitachi LCD tv's and what not, so i was able to special order. Unfortunately I have to wait until a big delivery of tv's comes in from them before i get my projector. I am really excited about this and have a feeling it will give great competition to panasonic and Sanyo.

I've had my TX 200 for about 5 weeks now and I am absolutely delighted with it in every way. The picture quality is jaw dropping, and the fan noise is non-existent. It's since been awarded mid-range projector of year in What Home Cinema awards issue, and won a shoot out with the Sanyo and Panny in another AV mag group test. The replacement bulbs on the Hitachi are also by far the cheapest compared to Sanyo/Panny.

I got mine from FlatDeal.com, and the service was top notch. I even got a follow-up letter after the delivery thanking me for my custom. A small touch that differentiates them in my mind from the box shifters.

Flatdeal £1,370
Discounttv £1,289

There may be cheaper out there, but would echo PJ's comments above

Apparently Hitachi upped their prices recently too as this projector could be bought for £1119 less than a few weeks ago by one company Knew I should have bought it!!!!

Thanks for these replies, comments re bulb prices are also really helpful as I'll probably use the PJ loads and I intend to keep it for a while.

One of the reasons I limited my choice to these two was that there seem to be less reliability issues with their previous models than with the Panasonics. Just my perception from what I've read on the forum.

Price vs service is a tricky one but I'm with you on the 'service is important' particularly if something goes wrong. I'll have a look at discount TV's website.

Thanks again.
