Sim2 HT300 Faroudja scaler - what does it do?

Morning.

The new Sim2 HT300 contains Faroudja processing.

Can anyone tell me what this processing does, other than de-interlace an incoming interlaced signal and improve colours?

I'm particularly interested to find out whether the processing scales up the resolution to the native resolution of the projector (720p).

I am also assuming that the inbuilt Faroudja stuff will totally obviate the need for any external processing boxes - can anyone confirm this?

I have asked Sim2 for answers on the above but not had any joy as yet.

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Regards - Paul

Alan Roser, Technical Director of Owl Video Systems Ltd, is probably the best person to answer this question.

He does drop into this forum now and again, but you could also try sending an email to info@owl-video.co.uk with a subject line starting: Attn Alan Roser...
