And if you don't get an order in quick you may not see one for some time, also the finance will take a few days anyway

It takes Optoma a few days to peel the stickers off the H78DC3's and replace with new H79 stickers from the US.

Maybe it would be quicker if Optoma produced their PJs with a digital display of model designation to save all that messy sticker changing business every few weeks, when they tweak the firmware, change the DMD paint.........

We are addressing this, we have a new phone system being installed in the next few days as we can't cope with the number of incoming calls at the moment, the system should stop this BT call minder service and get you through to someone, appologies for any inconvenience.

Rumour is we'll have our demo unit on Monday/Tuesday. All the stock available is allocated to backorders though... so anyone who sat on the fence with regard to placing an advance order will now have to wait until the next lot I'm afraid. I imagine with some stores even those who did place a backorder will still be waiting as I get the impression only a few units came in this week so not all dealers will get their full lot just yet. Still early days and all that.

Will keep this thread updated if I get any more news.

<smug voice> well I got mine</smug voice> Admittedly a day late but it is here. It'll be going to its new home Monday afternoon. If I have time I'll post a little about what I see but it'll be very short as I have limited time Monday. Just basic switch on and config then off to cedia usa....it'll be fully calibrated on my return though but by then I guess there will be lots of posts from new owners.

D'oh!! Not fair. Not sure I'll get mine if it's Tuesday/Wednesday as not always someone in the office. And forgot to check if it was dispatched Friday for Monday. I think I'm about to find out what it feels like to be on the recieving end of a failed CityLink delivery LOL!

But, while your at CEDIA mine will be positioning itself nicely in the hole left behind by my H78 racking up some serious hours

Gordon,

When you are at Cedia is there any chance you could have a look at a H79 and judge if there is a noticable difference in performance between the US H79 and the UK H79. I know there could many factors at play ie source and calibration, however something that reflects the hand picked components such as the Lens might be obvious.

Thanks Foghorn

Double post see H79

No I can't say, I try and tell you to get an order in with any retailer in the UK to avoid disappointment, but the minute I say that someone removes the post, so sorry can't help you guys out with the information you specifically asked for.
