Is an HT300 (original) capable of showing high def?

Having finally fired up my old HT300 in my new house (many thanks to Prestige for a superb install as usual) I am getting reacquainted with the delights of a large screen.
Also belated thanks to Alan Roser for getting the dust contamination sorted.

One question that occurred was, as the panel is capable of displaying 1280 x 720 pixels, could it be used as a high def display?

I've read a lot of threads saying that high def will be via HDMI only etc, but some people say that it is also available via component and that you can get HDMI to component converters anyway. (The HT300 does not have HDMI.)

Yes it can, via the component inputs.

You can also obtain a DVI/HDMI to VGA converter which will allow you receive digital signals via the PC input.
