Benq 5120 won't fill 16:9 screen

My Benq 5120 won't fill my 65" pull-down screen or my 70" portable screen.

No matter how I adjust it I find that the vertical picture overscans the screen top & bottom while the horizontal pic leaves black bands on either side.

I have it set to 16:9 by the way.

Keystone is poor as well

Is this unit faulty??.....I hope it is!!

If not....then what am I doing wrong

If you are using keystone then you are knocking out the true 16:9 picture, therefore it is near imposible for you to fill a 16:9 screen. You have to have the PJ at the perfect angle for you to get the best results and fill the screen correctly.

I've got a pe5120 fits my 16:9 perfect, in fact I have a .5" overhang all around!

I'm with Mat - no keystone and filling perfectly.

Can you test at the specified manual height and achieve full 16:9 ?

Well, without adjusting keystone, and sitting the PJ on a coffee table pointing straight at the screen, the picture slopes on both sides. If I adjust to the distance, height, etc as suggested in the manual, the picture is too big downways and not big enough left to right.

I have no such problems with my ET1, it can fill the screen with a good picture on both my screens with very little adjustment.

I'm really not very happy with the Benq, my first intention was to send it back....I wish I had stuck to that

If the sides are sloping then the pj isn't square on with the screen - if the top is wider than the bottom, then the pj is angled up too much. If the bottom is wider than the top, then it is angled down. If one side or the other slopes away, then the pj is not centered onto the screen. It sounds as if the pj is OK, you just haven't got it positioned correctly.

The Benq probably has a different angle of projection and throw compared to the ET1, so if you put it in exactly the same place, you could welll get the problems. you are seeing.

I finally got the PJ to fill the screen and without using any keystone

It took a bit of fiddling about...and using a dvd case to change the angle of the table....but it worked!!
