Grey Screens and Black Levels
This is just a thought........a number of posts in here talk about using grey screens instead of white, to improve the black levels on LCD projectors. Nice idea. But, has anyone considered that the same effect might be obtained by wearing medium density sunglasses whilst watching? It's certainly less messy than painting!
On another forum dedicated to certain projectors, other users have suggested getting a neutral filter of a suitable density (ie a grey filter). These are obtainable from photo stores (eg Jessops) and are primarily for use with cameras, but, provided you can get one the right diameter, will work equally well fixed to your projector lens.
Either of these alternatives will achieve exactly the same result as a grey screen, with one major difference: they are easily reversible.
