Question Where Can I Get a Cheap 16:9 Screen?

I have a Sony 1271QM CRT Projector but don't currently have a screen.

The projector is in my bedroom (no, seriously!) but will only be there for a few months so I don't want to waste money on a quality screen which I'll only have to replace when I buy my house early next year.

Any ideas and perhaps online sites where I can buy them?

Thanks

I'm currently using a 'homebrew' screen with my MT3 - and it looks pretty good to me! Nip down to your local haberdashery and buy yourself a cople of metres of 'Offwhite blackout material'. This is a dense heavy and slightly rubberised material. It's normally 54" wide which when you get the calculator out you will discover it's just about spot on for an 8' wide 16/9 image. I've attatched it to a 2" diameter aluminum tube using duct tape. You may need to weight the bottom. Total cost £20. It rolls up too - I'm looking to motorise with a Maplins motor!

Good luck!

You can buy screens from photographic shops. These are made for slide or film projection and can easily be masked (with masking tape) using black spray paint. I have masked several screens with each upgrade and it works well. A word of warning, when spraying, cover all white areas of the screen. You only get one chance!

A good shop for screens and materials is the Widescreen centre in Bakers Street London
