Considering upgrade from Z2 to the Mitsubishi HC2000. More of an opportunistic move I think.

Not sure if worth the huge amount of extra money.

What do people think of this projector? anyone with any experience of it?

There's a useful review of the HC2000 here which might help with your decision. The Infocus ScreenPlay 7205 would also be worth a look in this price range.

The Mit has an outstanding zoom range... not a major thing but a nice extra!

Well yes but also placing the pj behind you it will zoom in well too.

I upgraded from a Z2 to a HC2000. I'm very happy with the results.
The Mits HC2000 is rumoured to be very similar to the Optoma H77.
So, if I were you I would take a look at the Optoma H78, which is supposed to be an improved version of the H77.

I've got an opportunity to purchase a hc2000 for £2700 inc. VAT. At this price I'm thinking I ought to buy one even though I don't need one!!!!
