slight flickering in PT-AE700 High Def picture

hi,
I've connected the Panasonic DVD-S97 with HDMI and Faroudja DCDi to my Panasonic PT-AE700 projector, with an HDMI-cable obviously
I've set my S97 to a resolution of 720p and the picture is great. However the AE700 says it's getting a 750p signal (?)

Now the other day, I started noticing a slight flickering in the picture... it's not the entire picture but small parts that vary in position, it looks a bit like horizontal lines. I then started playing with the resolutions and found the following:
when i set the S97 to 720p I get a slight flickering.
If I set the S97 to 1080i I get more flickering and when I set it to 480p I get no noticable flickering at all...
I'm wondering what could be the cause of this. The fact that the AE700 says it's getting a 750p signal worries me. I'll do more tests tonight and let you know if I've found out anything more tomorrow.
I'd appreciate any tips if you have encountered something similar.

In the meantime I found out that the Panasonic DVD-S97 indeed puts out a 750p signal or 1125i signal in stead of 720p and 1080i. I find this strange and wonder how these resolutions get translated to the 720 lines LCD-panel... (cropping?)

Anyway, yesterday I played around with it some more and I made a strange discovery.
I was able to reproduce the flickering, it appeared after 10 mins or so in the 750p and 1125i modes. I have to say that the flickering is faint but quite noticeable in brighter scenes.
Then I could make it disappear by setting the lamp mode in my PT-AE700 projector to "High". I have absolutely no clue why it made the flickering go away...
So from now on I guess I'll be watching with my lamp in "high" mode.

Another discovery I made was that turning on the noise reduction on my AE700, the macroblocking caused by the Faroudja-chip in the DVD-S97 is reduced severely.

I'm very happy with the picture quality now. I'm glad I sorted it out but I'm still wondering if anybody else with the same configuration has experienced this same thing?

According to the "Appendix - List of compatible signals" in the User's Manual of the AE700 it seems that 1125i and/or 750p are the PAL equivalent of 1081i and/or 720p NTSC.
The 1125i mode gives a resolution of 1920 x 1081i. Whereas the 750p gives a resolution of 1280 x 720p.
