CGI movies like Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Shrek will look fantastic but are a poor test for skin tones, shadow detail and contrast.

What kind of demo is it? Is it to try before you buy or to show to friends and family?

It's a try before I buy. I will only be using it for Home Cinema. As you say animations are not the thing to demo with.

"Dark City" is a killer DVD for projectors.

If a projector can handle this, it will handle any movie.

Collateral (Tom Cruise) will give any PJ a work-out. The film mostly takes place at night. So, lots of blackness and dark skin tones. My Z2 struggled with the dark stuff and skin tones had a greenish tinge. Noteworthy comments, but my PJ (now 2 months old) is still the best £870 I've ever spent.
Don't watch Shrek or any animated stuff as they will flatter any PJ.

The absolutely brilliant 'Master And commander'!
It starts very dark and cripples many a good projector. It makes shadow detail hard for any pj and the dts sound is stomping. Canon explosions are fast and dynamic.

Master & Commander is a good test of black detail capability. LOTR, Two Towers, initial panning across mountains and plunge inside to Gandalf and Balrog I found good for stutter check and then contrast in a fast-moving scene.

Thanks for all the imput.

After borrowing a PJ over the weekend I have been converted and am going to get one. The EPSON EMP-TW10H seems to be good spec and well regarded so I will most likely go for one of those
(unless you know better?)
Screen wise I was thinking of one from DRH, Their slimline range. The size I'm looking at will be the 16:9 203x114 Which is listed at £158 or £332 for the Premium.
Would it be worth spending the extra on the premium or go with the cheaper one?
