Some questions before I buy a projector.

ok I'm looking to buy a epson tw10h projector from Techno world but I have afew questions before I do.

1. The projector will be positioned about 0.5-1.0m above my head. This is because my sofa is against the back wall so the pj will be going directly above my head. Also the pj will have to go on a shelf about 2/3 up the wall not on a ceiling mount etc.

2. From the pj to the screen will be about 3.0m, will this be enough considering the pj is above my head?

3. What is the best cable type to connect it up to my dvd? S-video or another?

Thanks
Paul

1, exactly how mine is

2, depending on what pj u go for the distance from screen to pj, will determine how large the screen will be, mine is 12 foot from pj to screen (3m) and its great

3/ try and use component or rgb if possible (or hdmi/dvi for even better quality)

regards
Jason

It sounds like you are aiming for a setup very similair to mine. I've got about 14ft from the projector on the back wall to a 6ft screen.

I would go for component or one of the digital cables (DVI/HDMI) if you can. I use component.

Also have a look at mine, web address in signature below. Projector is mounted on a normal shelf on the back wall. Sreen is 7ft wide, and projector to screen is approx 11-12ft.

You will have to bolt the projector upside down to the bottom of the shelf because the image shift is fixed, and the lens is level with the bottom or top of the picture, depending on projector orientation.

3meters from projector to screen gives you a good range of image widths between 172cm (67.7") at minimum zoom and 265cm (104") at maximum zoom. Mine is mounted at around this distance with no problems.
