what should I sell or keep?benQ w1000+, w1200,w5000 sony hw-15

Hi I have finally got some hd 33's

Got my dell m410hd's swapped for dell 4320's (great as work with 3dxl, wifi 4300lumens and stereo). HD65 and 2 3dxl's.

I have my 3d sorted but down to 2d.

Now I bought 2 BenQ w1200s have to send one back as dodgy picture.

So now I have a BenQ W1000+ 120hrs
W1200 new
w5000 40hrs and new bulb

2x Optoma eh1020 0hrs

and Sony Bravia hw-15 890hrs(out of 3000)

Now the eh1020s have fantastic pop as 3000lumens but only around 2000;1 but looks great and great connectivity and as far as i remeber looked better than W1000+ (around 4000:1 2000 lumens).

With the benq w5000 vs w1200 ......hmmmm one is old w5000 no deep color sent through hdmi(not really sure what that impact is) but was a $5000 machine and has fancy iris and lens but is older.
So anyone in the know which better ? 5000vs 10000:1 contrast not bothered about sound just picture.

Then there is the sony apparently 60000:1 but only 1000lumens but to be fair not far off brightness as others. Really have to get close to see any pixels.
It also has fancy lens and iris.

I'd say the w1000+ is a bit pants compared to the rest especially when using pc text and is a nightmare with cloud scenes in movies to make them look right.
Looked at the eh1020 ages ago compared with w1000+ and looked awesome.
The w1200 is amazing detail and clarity right out the box but for me it seems to lose the cinematic feel the the sony and the w5000 have .However that could be that it is to clear or that I just haven't got the right settings(I have played about but I'm not a ninja when it comes to that).
The w5000 is amazing detail but some noise.
Sony is only non dlp very cinematic but loses sharpness and 1000lumens is quite low if not in a bat cave during the day.

This is a list that compares them
Compare Projectors

But I would really like to here from people who have at least seen 2 or 3 of them.

I need to get rid of them and keep 1 or 2 for 2d.

Any help or advice would be great.

mate I've no idea from your post what pj you have now? Why have you purchased so many? Why can't you use one pj for both 2D and 3D?

as you seem to have quite a few, surely you can decide by just viewing the pictures you get from each and decide what one is the best for you!.

if one is great for 3D and not so great 2D keep that one for 3D, and vice versa, or if one is what you like for both 2D and 3D then keep that, only you can decide.

OK I've been buying and selling them to find the best ones and also help friends out and some for businesses .
Fed up of it . Really wanted to know which was best between sony hw-15 , benq 1200 and benq 5000.

I use w1000+ at my girlfriends place, dell 4320 (with 3d xl )in my bedroom for pc ,tv and gaming (in well lit room) and hd33 for 3d movies.

Thought about using the eh1020's for passive but a lot of hassle for a pic probably not as good as hd33. Plus they are boxed so will probably sell.

Spec on sony pretty good but a few yrs old too.

Sony and w5000 have a cinematic feel but w1200 doesnt. W5000 seems to have a lot of noise
could be calibration.

I have to get rid of them quick and haven't got the know how to calibrate well at the moment.

W5000 is older but specs are better than the w1200.

However which is better out the 3? from someone in the know.

Surely its easier and cheaper to demo pj's rather than buy and sell until you find one you like? Anyway if it was me I'd keep the sony, no rainbows.

@ true romance

That's probably true to demo them but in the uk kinda hard unless you wanna pay super high prices.
I have demoed most of them except w5000 and dells. But they all had excellent reviews.
But in my quest to buy and sell projectors to reach the holy grail of projectors (within a reasonable budget ) I am about £2000 $3000 down since last November .
From that I now have

2x 3d-xl
1x Optoma hd 65 w/ new bulb
1x Optoma hd 70 w/ new bulb
2x Optoma EH1020 factory sealed
2x dell m410hd (1 unopened)
1x m410hd new bulb
1x m410hd mount
3x new boxed dell 4320 (1 with a 2,4and a 5yr next day replace warranty)
1x 4320wifi dongle
1x NEC vt47
1x LCD viewsonic think 768x1024
1x crappy yellow tinged sharp 800x600
2x VGA to hdmi converters
1x ps3
1x 7.1 USB sound decoder
1x turtle beach with 7.1 sound decoder
1x Benq w5000 with extra bulb
1x Benq w1000+
2x Benq w1200
2x Optoma hd33
2x Optoma 3d-rf emitters
4x Dlp link glasses
1x xpand universal emitter
1x xpand 101 that I can't change battery on because needs a key
1x nvidia 3dvision kit
1x logic 3 sound bar
1x itamtam
1x 7.1 surround system
1x 180x 300 pull up screen
1x 120inch electric wide screen
1x 110inch electric wide screen
1x 94inch electric wide screen
1x 84inch pull down screen
1x 72inch pull down screen
1x 130x185 tripod screen
1x 66inch pulls down screen
1x 55inch boots screen
1x Sony Bravia hw-15

That's why I have so many , find it cheaper to go up the ladder.
Plus I can't resist a bargain.
Hmmm I didn't realise what I had before I made that list.
Had many more, things been and gone.
Messed around a lot with 720p 3d stuff which was very frustrating.
Anyway just thought some ninja on this site could tell me the daddy out of the w5000 and w1200. And how the Sony compared to that.

Been through a lot more just that's what I have left . Had loads of high end business pjs but unless you are gonna use all those networking features it's a waste of money . But buy low sell high. Had to fix a few up along the way. The thing that puts me off the Sony is only 1000 lumens and because not Dlp prone to fading colours and filter hassles. Lamps are cheap enough if you look hard. I can see rbe but have dound none of the above that annoying if at all.But although I have gone through a whole load of av stuff quite difficult to compare as doing up a house and I have found not many people know what they are talking about and just list off the spec.
Eg Dell 7months to tell me how to setup 3d on there projectors. They couldn't find anyone in the company who knew eventually said it wasn't 120hz so offered to change the three I had. Gave me 3 brand new £1200 pjs instead which are also 3d but still can't advise any setup.
All of the above are for sale at the right price ;-)
