Epson Tw1000 dust spots.

Hi,

Just having upgraded from a Panasonic AE900, I have just setup my TW1000. Have been waiting for a new mounting plate but now it's all done.
Very happy with the brightness even with the lamp in low mode. (it almost seems too bright)
Will have a play with brightness and contrast later today.

My main question is I have a small spec of dust on the inside of the lens.
It is towards the top of the screen an visible when a black image is projected.

Has anyone got experience of internal cleaning of the Epson or maybe a service manual?

Will try with the Hoover later today but it would be nice to do the job properly.

Thanks for looking

Alan

Still having no joy with my dust spots.

This seems to be quite common looking at the posts on here.

Can anyone recommend anywhere where I may be able to download a TW1000 service manual please.

Cheers

Alan

RE: Epson Tw1000 dust spots

Hi Alan, I have uploaded the service manual here http://www.jamiecopper.com/Stuff/EMP...ice-Manual.pdf
I recommend taking a few pictures of the inside before you start detatching the cables on the main board to get at the mirrors etc underneath (just for reassurace), I have cleaned all of those with ease but have yet to actually clean the back of the lens myself so do let me know how you get on.
All the best
Jamie

I have done this to my TW680, but you really dont need to. Just use compressed air to blow the dust off the affected lens/polorizer. A hoover will probably not be powerful enougth as the air isnt focused. Most say to use a specail type of canned compressed air, but I commonly use my air compressor to clean mine without problems.

Sorry for the late update on this.

Thank you so much for the service manual and I will let everyone know how I get on.

And a big thank you to the forum.
