if you are wanting one with a bit of a adjustable drop then I suggest the Premiermount PRG-UNV.

its a click together mount as well so makes for a very easy install.

Ordered a 6000 at the Bristol Show, the wife even offered to give me £1000 towards it as I had just bought a pair of Kef T301. Didn't know I was that good in bed! The wife assures me I'm not!!!!!!!! How does she know the difference?

However has anyone fitted one of these on a Vogels EPW6565 wall mount as I like the idea of being able to remove the projector and mounting arm just leaving the wall bracket/mounting channel hidden behind a picture when the projector is not in use. The install then becomes very wife friendly.

I have just finished installing our TW6000W on a Premiermount PRG-UNV. I'm projecting on to a 8ft Grandview Cyber screen.
I have to say I'm well pleased with the results this being my 1st PJ.
I wish to extend my appreciation & thanks to Ricky of Kalibrate who's advice has been spot on considering where I am on my projector journey. He also instils confidence that he will give good customer support into the future. The PJ is yet to be calibrated which should improve on a already good picture. With a little work, tape measure and patience Pjs are the way to go if your into film and HT.
Not tried 3D yet.
The wireless set-up is great.
I was going to purchase a really big flat TV. What a mistake that would of been & expensive to.
So for the next few years I will be happy with this set up until the medium improves even further.
Fun ahead!
Blue

There's no quality difference between the Epson and Panasonic glasses that I can detect. The Panasonic ones are more comfortable, weigh about half as much and are rechargeable.

The Epson ones, I would imagine, would be better if you had to wear them over the top of another pair of glasses, and they do block out stray light from the side and top a bit more.

Talking

Hi all.
Just join this Fab forum. I am a TW6000 owner (got it the first day of release). I thought I would post a few of my thoughts.
People have been asking what types of glasses can be used with the 6000/9000. I had a long conversation with Epson after searching hi and low for the Epson glasses. She told me that Panasonic are compatible. So due the fact I have a couple of young girls in the house, I purchased some cheap glasses from eBay (£25). These work well (not as good as the Epson ones but great for the kids) I then went to Currys and purchased 3 types of Panasonic which work really well. However I am thinking of converting the system to use Passive glasses (yes that right LOL) there is a small device that you can place in front of your projector that converts from active shutter to passive. Of course this little device costs between $300 and $500 (not bad when you think how much you would save on glasses) you also need a Silver screen. I am making mine for about £150. The projector window web site is here

DLP-Link 3D MUX

Once I have permission (from her that must be obeyed lol) I shall buy one and let you all know if it's any good.

Now I have one question that I cannot find the answer to. Can anyone change their Aspect Ratio? Mine is set to normal with all the other options greyed out. I might be being a bit blond but can't seem to change it.

Welcome to the forum.

You do know that the Epson is neither DLP-Link enabled or 120Hz (It's actually 240Hz) don't you?

With regards aspect ratio, you cannot change it if the input is 1080p. For some reason the manual for the US equivalent projector contains more information than the UK manual. It is covered in there.

You might want to rethink your screen plans.

Why bother though?

The cost of the device and the cost of the screen will keep you in active 3D glasses for the next year even if you threw them away each time the batteries run out.

It's a bodged solution anyway, the whole point of a passive system is that it's not sequential. You're banging a round peg into a square hole there.

Yeah you're prob right there chap. with the price of the new 3rd gen active shutter glasses it wouldn't be worth it. I think I shall save my pennies (or buy a nice new silver screen)

Colour Mode issue

I have just installed an EH-TW6000W as ceiling mounted. It had quite a bright picture initially so I tried setting the colour mode to "auto" but found i couldn't, the option was greyed out. Having pulled most of my hair out I finally found that you cannot set the colour mode to auto when it is mounted on a ceiling!. If it is sitting on a table no problem, but no can do on the ceiling. Go figure that one out. Quite disappointing and funnily enough this has not been picked up in any reviews that I have read, no doubt because it is not mentioned in the manual at all. Don't get me wrong this is an amazing projector however it is bright in a dark room and the ability for it to adjust to a dark room automatically is not an option when it is ceiling mounted. I set it to “normal” which is about the best I can find. Epson need to make this clear in the manual as I am sure it will catch people out.

Has anyone else found this?

I don't see how the auto mode will help you. It doesn't make it go any darker than any of the other modes - all it does is automatically flick between the other presets depending on the ambient brightness.

I would recommend you try Cinema mode, and do some basic calibration to make sure you have the brightness and contrast set correctly.

Thanks, yes you are right, in hindsight I guess i misinterpreted what the auto setting would do. If it only cycles between the built in settings then yes not much point and I am not missing anything. Just seems strange that the auto setting is not an option if it is ceiling mounted and the manual makes no mention of it.

Unhappy In desperate need of help

I purchased the 5900 and could not wait to watch 3d movies, we did watch Gnomeo and Juliet last week with just a couple of my tannoy speakers.

We have now got a 7.1 system set up and we want to watch the smurfs, lol, it says we dont have 3d.

We are using an Onkyo TXSR605, a PS3 and the 5900.

We have only HDMI cables and the PS3 goes into the ONKYO which goes into the projector.

Do we have to change settings on the menu, we had to fiddle a bit before but got it working, its not the disc as we have tried another with the same message. Is it because we cant have 7.1 and 3d ?

If anyone can save us from having to watch dancing on ice or xfactor this evening, I would be eternally grateful.

I know you might laugh at the smurfs, but its light and been a tough week.

The 605 isn't 3D capable. You need to connect your PS3 directly to the projector and use an optical cable to the amplifier for audio.

You won't be able to have 7.1 and 3D with that amp/player combo. The amp needs to support 3D (HDMI 1.4 compliant). You could run HDMI from the PS3 to Pj and run optical from PS3 to amp for 5.1. Otherwise you will need a new amp or BD player that decides HD audio and use analogue inputs on the amp if it is supported. Alternatively you will need to watch the film in 2D.
Hope this helps.

My cry for help

We have just tried to play without the amp using the PS3 directly to the 5900 using the internal speakers, and it still will not play in 3D ?

Any idea, I do appreciate your patience with me, i am new.

Try running the display setup again on the PS3 to make sure it recognises the projector as 3D capable. If it does, you will be asked for a screen size. Also make sure the projector has 3D turned on (press the 2D/3D button to switch).
