Also just changed from hdmi 2 to 1 so as to again exclude pc input issue and when I put up the menu in the centre as with the thread on avsforums the "n" in enter is an "r"

Here's hoping optoma uk response is as good as optoma us, as in they sent him a replacement first and then gave him a prepaid package to send his faulty hd33 back, also guess this is where I findout if warrenty is indeed transferable from 1 owner to another????????

Some of Optoma's Warrenty Terms
This Lamp Warranty is not enforceable if a Projector has been intensively used.
Normal use of a Projector is defined as a maximum usage time of 6 hours per 24 hour period. A usage higher than 6hours per 24 hour period will not be covered by the Lamp Warranty.
(Some Projectors are covered by a “24/7” guarantee. These Projectors are excluded from this Lamp Warranty.)

Transfer of Warranty
Should a Projector with this associated Lamp Warranty be sold on by the original owner, the balance of the Lamp Warranty may be transferred to the new user provided that the original purchase documents are transferred to the new user also. This is necessary to show that the Lamp is within its Lamp Warranty period.

They're from the special "extended lamp warranty" and nothing to do with the actual projector.

You're welcome, hope you get it resolved quickly. It does sound like it's faulty tbh, hard luck mate

I would phone the place you bought it from and tell them about the problem. Ideally you would get a new PJ shipped out and the courier who delivers it could swap it for the dud one. Worth a try.

Have just called audiofile in cambridge who stated that I do indeed need to send it to them and they will then contact optoma and take it from there???
So sounds like a long process. They never offered to send me a new one first or offered to arrange pickup, so the cost or return is gonna be on me

Next thing I need to do is find a good solid box and package it well as first owner threw the box and packaging away.

UNLESS,
Any new HD33/HD300x owners who are going to throw there optoma box + packaging away please let me know and I will gladly take it off you and cover postage costs, anyone??

Wasn't this a recent eBay purchase? If so unless the seller advertised it as faulty, can't you send it back to the seller for a refund?

Yes + no Wayne,

Guy wanted me to pickup and pay cash outside of ebay to save fee's which I was happy to do. Really nice guy dont think he knew of the fault, Took me 2 days to spot it, not even sure it was there the first day.

Having spoken to a forum sponsor(shop) who while I didnt buy from then were helpful regarding information, the nice guy on the phone told me to call optoma service centre direct and they will arrange pickup and repair or replacement, unlike audiofile who told me, I have to send to them and not optoma.

Optoma told me It normally takes 14 days to check, repair or replace the projector plus return and delivery time/days, so expecting a 3 week wait
If it would have been found to be faulty within the first 14 days of ownership then they would have arranged a hot swop for a new one as in they would have sent out a new one and picked up the faulty one at the same time.

Your room looks very nice and projector friendly.
You have a very light carpet. Try laying some dark material on the floor to cover the area directly in front of the screen, about 5 or 6ft. and see if you get a worthwhile improvement in image quality.
You should enjoy the PJ it's great for the money even in 2D, but especially in 3D.

its a lovely screen no ripples at all after 3 1/2 years i got it from a dealer on this site, dont think he is around anymore and only payed £320 for it but its £659 online now

its well worth getting a screen but dont get a £100 ebay one it wont last and will ripple very quickly

Grandview Cyber electric projector screens, giving great value for money with built in IR and 12 volt trigger

have a look in the classifieds some lovely screen pop up on there for a good price

£279 for the manual version same screen qualty

Grandview Cyber manual pull downs screens, giving great valuse for money with a 3 ply screen material allowing the screen to lie very flat

and take the glasses back and print out the thread about the qualty of them on here and they should replace them if not call optoma

Hopefully midweek i'll be ordering my HD33 with Grandview 7ft Tab Tensioned screen, got my adjustable shelf coming on Tuesday so hopefully my new credit card will appear by Wednesday so I can order and take delivery by Friday, really want it up by Friday night as I'll more than likely have Transformers by Thursday, I think that may have to be the first flick on the big screen for me, I was going to save Up for the big screen but had a quick peep at it last night and was very let down by the 3D effect, it seemed very flat to me.

I'd be wary of that listing, no feedback and the pic clearly shows a tab tensioned screen, they wouldnt be selling that for 200 quid I think, considering the same size i'm getting in Grandview Tab is almost £1k.

At 3 years old, I would guess that was before the credit crunch kicked in properly meaning the £gbp $USA was over 2 rather than around 1.5 now, which will make a huge difference in the prices

They are good screens though for the price.

As Toddy says, try richer sounds first
