thinking about buying this sony projector,

will be useing it on a 102" screen, my room length is 16 foot

That looks like a data projector to me. Far too bright for home cinema use and very poor contrast ratio. You should be looking for somehting with dedicated widescreen DLP chip like the Matterhorn @ 1024x576 resolution or the Mustang HD2 and HD2+ which are even better. Brightness should really be less than 1000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ration near 2000:1 or higher is what you want. The Dell machine looks like a better bet for movies b ut I wouold also consider the Themescene H30 and the Screenplay 4805 which come in near that price point.
