Projector screen mounting question

I'm planning on setting up a projector, but the problem is my mum doesn't want me drilling holes in the wall to mount the projector screen.

Are there any ways round this?

I would work on persuading your mother!! You're not gonna see the holes when the screen is up (and tidily out of the way up high on the wall) and when it's time to bring it down a dab of pollyfilla, some sandpaper and a tiny slap of paint will fully restore! If she doesn't like the sight of the screen itself how about a pair of hooks in the wall or ceiling? It's barely noticeable and easy to lift the screen on and off of....

Where can I buy screens that protrude from a wall to come down infront of some curtains say. I saw them the other day but not sure where. Thanks

I've got my pull down screen fitted behind the curtains, so it is almost invisible untill it is needed.

No-one so far has even noticed it hiding up there. If I get a chance later on I'll stick up some pictures.

Would DRH slimline with wall brackets work (Liam - opinions?)?

My eventual plan is to have DRH slimline 240 mounted away from wall in front of curtains - though I'm also considering getting it directly ceiling mounted by someone.

This place has "adjustable 16-25" wall brackets" but i've heard bad things about Draper screens and their wrinkling.

If you have a need to mount a screen away from the wall the best thing you can do is go to B&Q and buy a bracket exactly the size you need it that will match the decor of your room. The Draper one is anything but pretty:

and is really intended as a keystone eliminator for schools and colleges etc.

All you need your bracket to do is screw to the wall, have an arm long enough to clear your curtains etc and have a small hole at the end with an S-Hook or something to join to the screen casing. Then as suggested fit a pelmet around it or something to hide it (or you could get really adventurous and panel out a portion of ceiling to hide the whole lot!)
