p\scan help

Hope this is in the right place
I have a dvd capable of running p\scan and have it running component through my z1 now i am able to select the different screen settings and the picture changes but i am left with a picture that has been squeezed and the blue background becoming bigger am i supposed to change the size of the screen or what.
