ptae100 power up trouble

Help please.....
last night i took apart my ptae100 to give the lenses a good cleaning.
I took my time taking it apart. wore latex gloves as to not leave oil residue.
i polished all the lenses with a good tac cloth.
i reconnected all the connectors and put all the lenses back in the right order.
I went to turn it on...
the projection turns on... the fans start.. the bulb comes on, then right when it goes to kick into high gear the temp light starts flashing, the bulb turns off the power button goes to orange and then to a solid red with the temp light flashing....
Can someone please tell me what to make of this?
I am so positive that I put everything back the way it was. I took such care in the handling of the unit.
Is there a reset? Are one of the two fuses gone? Did I miss something?
What the heck did I do wrong?
My baby is broke.......
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Gumper. When you say that you took apart your ptae100 I assume that you took off the circuit board. If you did you had to disconnect, as you look at the CB from the rear of the panny 5 plug/connectors at the lense end off the CB and two connectors on the right hand side. In addition of course you have to disconnect the 3 lcd ribbon cables as well. On a couple off occassions when my panny did the same as yours -that's start up and then cut off it was due to one of the two connector plugs on the right hand side hadn't been connected when reasembeling. It's easily done when you put back the circuit board an accidently cover one off the cables and plug/connector. As I said check the lens end of the CB where 5 connector/plugs should be obviously connected and check the right-hand side where there are two connector terminals which should also have obvious plugs/connectors inserted. NB: There is a middle third connector block/socket on the right-hand side directly in between the two. This should have NO plug/ connector inserted. This block is for computer diagnostics.

Several times I've failed to connect one off the two connectors top-right right hand side and bottom right right hand side. These are for the fans there are three fans on board if one is not connected the CB senses this and shuts down. So check *ALL FIVE PLUG/CONNECTOR/SOCKETS. You should clearly see a plug inserted with wires .

Good luck

thanks LTJ......
On the main a-p.c. board... all of the connectors are connected.
thanks for solving my burning question of that blank connector..... it was driving me crazy as to weather i tucked a wire under everything requiring me to do a total dismantal again.
i may have to take off the circut board again so that i can take off the S.p.c. board covering the lense.. i can't see weather those wires are connected under it or not.
i managed to grab the ptae100 service manual from a link provided by someone elses post..... it was very extensive.
the first thing it told me was to check those wires... if those were fine they recomended testing the microcomputer...which controls the thermofuse.
If it is blown the power would stop. unfortunately I have no idea what i am doing and must send this into panny to look at if this is the case. It probably won't be a cheap part.
I will definately recheck all connections again to make sure.
Thanks for your help... if you have any other info let me know....
I can't belive i did this to my Toy man... I am totally devistated.... I take such good care of it.
thanks again.

Good morning Gumper and if your'e like me a depressed morning for you, when you feel you should have left well alone and all looks lost. As I've already said this has happenend to me several times and it was due to one off those fan plugs being a) not connected b)poorly connected. The only other thing I can suggest off the top of my head is the lamphousing. Did you take the lamp out and if so is it pushed all the way home in addition is the lamp housing door/flap in the correct position ie. totally closed . If you look at the lamp housing door/cover you'll see it's not completely square in shape, the is a tab like part on one off the corners and underneath is a plastic lug. This, when properly positioned engages with a switch that when in proper contact tells the CB that all is well so to speak.
The fuses I can't comment on but they should be simple enough to tell whether they've blown a) visually b) with a meter.
