Even the Pros get projectors in wrong place

These are a couple of pictures from a projector I just repaired for one of the most respected AV installers in the UK. The projector has done about 12000hrs but just look at the position of the raster on the tube face.

To come to the defense of the installer, you sometimes have to shift the raster over to one side to avoid any ringing when you don't have the luxury of a VP or HTPC to alter timings. And even then ringing is still there.

This is Cine 7 running composite video. Ringing is not the issue. This was just piain sloppy work. Doesn't evn begin to fill the raster. I estimate the project is nearly a meter further back than it should be

I would think the Green raster should be centered at the least if the geometry is proper in relation to the screen...

And yes there is a lot of unused raster but was this done to correct a bad initial setup of centering the screen properly ?

Strangley, it does seem to be toed in correctly - the raster is in the same place on green and blue.

nevermind the rasters, that's the real crime, . How can a pro shop set-up a person with composite video? Especially since the Barcos take component video directly right?
