Smile Z2 firmware upgrades?

Chaps

Anyone read/know any means up upgrading the firmware on the Z2?

I guess everyone has read about it on the "other" forum... surprised there is no chat over here!

The serial cable is no problem... now the software!!

Other option... IVOJO. Anyone know what thier policy/ability is re doing an upgrade?

Ideas?

we havent even heard about the software being on the net letalone how to actually implement it. I got the feeling that firmware was on some removable memory which would need replaced

Flash...

Hmmm.. I did not expect it to be on any "removable" memory...

Have you opened up a Z2 and seen any "plug in" memory of any sort?

These days, its usually a quick flash of an eprom... I would not expect them to have any plug in jobbie... too expensive methinks...

The service port has all you need to flash - the pinouts are freely known... We just need to track down the proggy and code!

If we get the proggy, we could probably backup the firmware of an existing Z2 (whatever..) and flash others..

Worth looking into for kicks if nothing else!
