Projector/screen/possibly amp upgrade

Budget of around £2.5k-3k. Primary usage x-box, wii, TV (sports and comedy) and DVDs. Not a great deal of daytime TV. Ideally would like to buy a screen, a new projector, possibly new DVD player/amplifier.

Azur 540R – 6.1 AV Receiver
Cambridge Audio Azur 540R is my current amplified.

Current projector is a 5 year old Mitsubishi (not exactly sure what model): http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4708/cimg1485z.jpg

Current DVD player is a Toshiba SD-360E which doesn't mean a great deal to me.

Please offer recommendations, particularly of screens and projectors and if they are worthwhile! I am open to the idea of painting the room if that is superior to a screen. If possible would like to keep DVD/X-Box/Wii/Sky Box plugged in at all times.

Here is the room (not entirely sure of viewing distance, can measure if required - the sofa is opposite the speakers, not the blue sofa): http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7929/cimg1486k.jpg

Thanks

Rupert

Re: Projector/screen/possibly amp upgrade

Depends where you're priorities are, if it were me I would definatly get one of the new budget 1080p machines, DIY screen - that way you can choose what gain/colour you want and whatever custom size you feel like (will the room be for games/movies only since you say you can paint to help the projector?) and amp I cant help with really.

Re: Projector/screen/possibly amp upgrade

Yeah the room is pretty much just for tv/games/movies, I suppose TV is the most used of those 3. WRT the screen would probably prefer a permanent fixture rather than something that rolls down... Is there any varying quality in different canvases/ready-to-go screens?

Any specific projector recommendations? Is 1080p the best quality that's widely used?

Re: Projector/screen/possibly amp upgrade

PJ Optoma HD20 £900ish

Blu-Ray Sony BDP s360 £135ish

Speakers Kef KHT2005.3 £700ish

Amp Denon AVR 2310 £700ish

Screen??

This would be my wish list with that budget? Also I would add Sky HD if you do not have it but you need the BR and HD content to really show off the system at its best.

Hope this helps Steve
