help me choose tv or projector? im on budget

Hi guys i already have a 42 inch plasma tv but now its in my front room and i wanna get something for my room, im at work most of the time so the only time i use a tv is for watching football (non hd) playing xbox 360 games and using my pc to watch hd movies ,tv shows in hd and dvds and also documentarys. i dont really watch much normal television.

I also had one of those cheap projectors from china but it lasted only 2 weeks, when i connected my pc's vga cable it blew up. Thats why i have a fear of projectors as you might have to be too careful what you do, and also im guessing you cant switch on and off to quick as you have to let it cool down?

Im on a £300 to £350 budget and looking to buy either a lcd tv 32'' maybe or a projector but may not be hd. the reason i want a projector is i went to the cinema the other day and was reminded again how good it is to watch something that big and everything was brought to life.

now i have some questions please try to answer them thanks....

1. i know none HD projectors wont properly display HD movies in the correct resolution but will it still look good on a 100'' wall rather then a 32''lcd tv playing 720p?

2.ill be using a projector for 4 to 5 hours a day but not in a row but rather throuout the day so how long should i give after i turn off the projector to turn it on again?

3.will i need a projector screen to get the best picture or will a standered white wall be good enough? are there too much diference?

4. Im a big fan of giant size movies than a small 32'' lcd tv but with my budget what will be ideal? a 720p tv or none hd projector? thats the main question.

5. Also how frequent can i find bulbs like in 3 years time i will buy a bulb but will the bulb still be avilable in 6 years time etc, or as new projectors come out the old ones will be discontinued? i want something to last long too. lcds will last 15 years and up?

Sorry to be a noob i will continue to read the forums but hope someone helps me in the mean time. i have more questions but this is just some rough questions popping up for now.
Anyways hope someone can help me decide.

Re: help me choose tv or projector? im on budget

The K10 seems like a projector suitable for those who travel a lot. You should look for something else.
It will take some time until a bulb replacement is needed, even with frequent use. There is no need to worry about that as at this price point the lamp costs a good fraction of the projector's price. It would be best to replace the Projector then.
I would go for a used 720p PJ instead. A TV is also a good option if you need to use it that frequently. I don't play games but I find that Projectors are best for movies.

Re: help me choose tv or projector? im on budget

I started about 1 year with your budget and it ended up being 1.5k you need sound you need a screen you need a source... And if your thinking about playing xbox in standard def at 100" think again I had to do it the other day when using my dazzle it was useless!

Id recommend a tv if your budget cant move any more than that cause you will just end up hating your projector if you only spend 300 on it then 50 oso on a screen or ikea blind then some sort of sound and player for it...
