Need to buy a projector ~3000 for business

Hey, first post here, so bear with me.
I need to buy a portable projector for a business room. The business room has a large glass table and we'll be showing presentations from DVD's, as well as hooking it up to a top of the line laptop to display that image. we have $3000 USD to spend on this projector. I'm also looking for a screen that comes out from a large cylinder horizontally. Not sure on what size for the screen yet. Any posts in the next bit are appreciated.

will you only be showing dvd and images or will you be looking at text and powerpoint type stuff? This would decide if you want a data or a cinema projector. I suspect a data machine would be better and you would want high lumens, not worry too much about the contrast. As far as specific machine.... i dont know because this is a cinema spot so thats really all i know. Plus used to do some great little machines which might well have suited you, i dont know about their more recent offerings.

as far as the screen, it sounds like what you want is rather specialised so i cant help at all, sorry.

If the room has a lot of light in it, a grey screen may be beneficial. Something with gain perhaps like the Da-Lite 1.1 gain HCCV screen.

I think Buns covered the pj aspects well enough. If you're US based (as you mentioned dollars and not pounds), you may want to try www.avsforum.com for home based contributions.

The type of screen that sits on the floor and pulls up, supporting itself, is the Da-lite Insta-theatre.

As for the projector, for the type of environment you are talking about take a look at the Sony VPL-CX6 - very gimmicky (auto retracting lens cap, auto height memory & auto keystone correction) which gives a certain 'wow' factor in front of clients, or maybe the extremely good looking and refined 3M X50 (a US brand, albeit built around supremely reliable Hitachi innards)

Both would certainly make a good impression if you are presenting to clients.
