Mits HC5500 room fit..!!

Hey.I had read all the reviews and poured over what has been written here,im a complete beginner so went with alot of the very good advice, and finally decided to purchase the Mits Hc5500.i was happy with the choice but i just checked the projectorpoint projection calculator and realised it seems to show i cant fit the picture into the area i have for the screen!!
I cant fit more than a 92" diagonal screen and the way the room is the projector has to be back more a Min of 14ft.
Can anyone confirm if the calculation is accurate or is there any way of zooming down the image on this projector to fit the screen.if it does`nt fit i will have to look at maybe the Sanyo z700 or something similar that looks like it will fit...the screen and the budget!

You must be using the calculator wrong, I've just used it and 92" is doable from 9'8" to 11'8".

I don't think you can always trust those calculators to the inch, I have am HC5500 and a 92" screen and I am literally JUST able to fill the screen with maximum zoom. That's 9'2" from the projector lens to the screen, so you should be fine

OH you can only mount 14' back? I read it as the calc saying you needed 14' of throw to get that size screen.

Get a bigger screen . 92" is pretty small anyway, I guess it'll chuck a 106" nicely from that distance.

Re: Mits HC5500 room fit..!!

it would be lovely but its the shape of the attic ceiling thats restricting the size of the screen.it is sloped at the sides which restricts the width of the screen casing.i have already pre installed the HDMI cable in the ceiling and reinforced the ceiling around where the projector would be mounted, which i put at around 13.5 to 15 feet.the mits5500 seems to throw a bigger picture from that distance.
its such a shame as i had my heart set on that one.i cant go ripping the ceiling again so it looks like i might have to go with an alternative.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
