Trying to install but having problem when it comes to angle adjustment of the red and blue.

I can cenrte to red on the green horizontally but the red is lower down than the green and I don't know why.

Also, to centre the red on the green means that the lenses and touchingis this usual as I have used the lens program to caluclate distance.

Re: 808 Install

Sorry to be flipant but read the FAQ at the top of this section.

You need to set the rasters to centre first before you start toeing in the tubes.

Re: 808 Install

I have all of the above, however all, three rasters are too large for me to centre with sufficient space all around for safe operation.

I am just after specifics of how to reduce these before I dive in and do something very wong

You can adjust the master width trim pot.

Barco 808/Cine8 Tips and Manuals

The built in test patterns are not a good judge of actual size. Get a test pattern DVD and see if there is still too much width.

Re: 808 Install

The "Active area" is the main concern this is the area used by the video image (not internal test pattern).

Test with largest image you will use eg 4:3,16:9 (1.85:1), 2.35:1, 2.4:1

There are a number of areas to cover to make things line up correctly.

IF the only issue is that when the very center of the test pattern of RED is correctly in line with GREEN in the horizontal and that the RED is lower than the GREEN then you need to "trim" the RED up.

To "TRIM" the red you need to locate the vertical board and there are FOUR adjustments on it.

RED vertical size, BLUE vertical size, BLUE vertical position.......AND

"RED VERTICAL POSITION" - thats the one you need to "TRIM" to correct your issue.

PLEASE NOTE - if ONE colour is larger/smaler left to right than others then you need to adjust the "WIDTH POTS" with a NON METAL screwdriver, you adjust TWO colours to be the same as the SMALLEST image.

RED and Green lens touch - Which lens set do you have???

Standard is HD8 (revA or B)

IF you are trying to align to a screen that is TOO SMALL then lens might touch (never had that issue!)

Check the center raster and make sure you have the CORRECT vertical line in te test pattern of RED with the same in GREEN - It is possible to get the lines ONE or TWO etc out of line...... There is a "+" marking in the test pattern to check you have the correct vertical line up.

Hope that is of help to you.

Are you in the UK?
If so then contact Chris Frost forum member and he will be able to set this up for you.

If you are abroad then post where you are and I will check if there is anyone local to you.

PROFESSIONAL setup is VERY worth getting done, You will learn how to do many things yourself in the future........

Andy.
