replacement bulb question on all pj's

why do they cost so much?

my Sanyo PLC-XW15 for instance, replacement bulb for £300

is that the only option?

or is there literally no way of going to some sort of lighting specialist, giving him the lamp assembly and getting a high power bulb back for far far less?????

I suspect the answer to 'why' is the same as why car parts cost so much, and why replacement batteries for laptops, phones etc (those that aren't 'standard' sizes) do. It's because 'they've got you by the short and curlys'.

A new lamp for my VW10 is going to cost in the region of GBP450.

Andy, do a search on a thread titled Replacement lamp prices by Posh Bloke. It was posted in late October.

I'm in Middlewich.

I know Mike at Lampz quite well. He's a good guy and has had some very positive feedback in this forum from others who have bought lamps.
