Question Best Projector for £500

Okay so i have been reading these threads for quite some time, but there is NO definitive conclusion.

I have been looking at the InFocus X9, at its cheapest web price it was £477 last week, then went up to £511, And is now £545 :O

So am reconsidering what to go for? I would stretch to £600, but only if there was a good reason.

My room measure 3.5m x 3.5m so projector would be approx 3m from screen.

I will be watching lots of blu-rays and playing ps3 and xbox 360, possibly getting sky+HD in the near future.

Its either a Projector at 720p 84" or a Plasma at 1080p 50" for equal price?

i jumped at the projector. Is this the right choice for my needs?

Thanks in advance.

Liam.

Re: Best Projector for £500

I wasn't aware you could get a 50" 1080p plasma for £500 odd

But, yes, if you mind the requisite dark-room viewing (assuming you want blacks), the slight operational noise and the downscaling of any >720p sources then the PJ seems the best bet IMO. Plus, it takes up no space, really.
