Infocus Screenplay 5700 demo

Just got back from a demo of this. Watched a £3700 Sim in action too. I was almost decided on a plasma as a replacement for my RPTV.
No way, the Screenplay blew me away. It was so much better than anything I've seen before. Anyone know where to get this at a good rate (was £3000 from 7oaks)?

As we walked out of the shop we laughed at the puny 42" 434 plasma on the wall.

For ambient light normal TV viewing will probably get a small lcd later.

Buy it!! At £3000 it's still a bargain compared to plasma, and equal to PJ's costing £6k 18 months ago. I should know, I bought one after the same demo against the sim, and have absolutely no regrets. Watched the Two Towers over the weekend - WOW!!

OK, I've decided without doubt this is the one to get. I shall get a manual screen. I was told they start at £250, obviously go up in quality more you pay.
Any recommendations...up to say £350 for a 5 footer

I have a 5700. Spent quite some time ringing around for a price. Pointless really as everyone i.e those allowed by the Infocus disti, is selling it for £3K.

I have mine ceiling mounted right above my head. There is some fan noise but I don't think it's that bad in comparison with other (data) projectors. Can't say I have much experience of other home PJ's. One thing though. There is a "feet release" thing on the side of the PJ. On mine it can rattle a bit. Touching it once usually stops it. Same goes with the occasional rattle of the case itself.

If this sounds<g> bad it isn't. Once the film starts I forget it's there.

As with rainbows ymmv.

I compared the noise of the 5700 to the Sim one. The Screenplay was definately quieter. My fish tank makes more noise.

I'd agree that the noise isn't a problem. It's less noisy than the Panasonic PTAE100 I used to have. I too have noticed some people commenting on a high pitched whistle, coming from the colour wheel, but I don't have this and would assume that it's a fault if it occurs.
I have mine table mounted less than 6 foot from where I sit, and it's fine. It throws out heat, but only to the right (I sit to the left)
