Complete newbie to projectors, but having spent time lurking and searching the forums, I was hoping someone might supply some thoughts on this unit, as there just dont seem to be any reviews.

Quick overview.

I was originaly looking to get a cheap < £200 unit to put in a spare room that the wife has agreed to convert to a games room for me and my son.

The room is only around 3m square in a basement. First thought was to get a 32" flat screen, but have always wanted to have a projector. The projector will be connected to my HTPC and that is it, all signals will come from this for movies, live tv and games.

After a but of looking around on ebay, I new it wasnt going to happen, so pushed to £300. Then I came across this projector, seems everything I want for my first one. Cheap, widescreen and seems to have fairly goot specs. Seems a little to good, and with no reviews maybe it is.....

Hope somebody can help judge if it is a good first venture for mainly watchinig movies and tv on.

I know it says it's a multimedia projector but it's not.

It states a 600:1 contrast ratio. That is really poor. You need a least 2000:1 to have any depth to the image.

You'd be better off looking (and waiting) for a second hand decent projector to pop up in the forum classified section.
