Best place for replacement bulbs

Well my projector bulb has died after 1100hrs. It's a panasonic pt ae700. Where is the best place to get a replacement bulb from? I took it into a service centre to find out what was initially wrong, they want £260 to replace it!

Also, are genuine bulbs worth the extra money?

Re: Best place for replacement bulbs

From Fleabay you can get the whole lamp module for £180 posted from Japan or the bulb itself (bit fiddly to fit but ok) for around £130 posted from US.

Quite a few members have bought bulbs this way with mostly good reports.

Yeah I've just been looking at this. Would I be better off getting the whole lot to swap out?

Re: Best place for replacement bulbs

It's easier with the whole module but if your fingers are nimble it's usually ok to swap bulbs - just don't touch it with your fingers

Haven't done this on a Panny myself so can't advise further.
