Re: projector distance

Assuming you want a CRT, then as a rough guide most CRT projectors work on "screen width x 1.5 = throw distance"

Your intended 7ft screen needs about 10.5ft (3.2m) throw distance. That's the distance measured from the lenses to the screen.

As for what to choose, well there's a wide choice. It all depends on your budget. Have you done any research and put together a realistic budget yet?

Re: projector distance

A CRT projector looks like this

If you don't know what a CRT projector is then you probably aren't looking for this type of machine.

The projectors with one lens on the front are possibly what u are looking for. Got to the DLP / LCD projector forum if that is the case.

Re: projector distance

I would recommend a Barco 808 or 1209s if you want a CRT projector. If you want a digital you should post this on the digital forum. Buy the way you need to avoid Sony CRT tubes you want MEC tubes.

Read the topics in the above sticky's.

IMO the CRT projector is your best bet but hey that's just me......

Most of the used CRT projectors sold new for $20,000 to $35,000 and the build quality was excellent !
