Edge Blending

Hello!

I have 3 NEC 901W projecting through MatroxTripleHead the scenery of Flight Simulator. The overlaped area is very bright. I heard that this can be solved with edge blending. Can some of you please tell me which are the software options I have to do that?

Tank you

Regards
Henrique

Re: Edge Blending

Hi,

I use TVONE products,

These are hrdware units and I believe still the cheapest option around.

They are still £1000+ per projector.......

Software is the other option. I will try and get some of the people who havedone this via software to post.....

You can do it with VLC player , with edge blend options plug in.

Its been a long time since I was doin this software side.....

I also used the powerwall feature of Nvidia graphics cards -Lots of issues.....

The software based option were mainly SD (not 1080p) as HD was still starting out......

I need to go to bed, Hope thats a start for you.

There are a copule of edge blended domestic systems in the UK that I know of, Mine is one of them .

Andy.

Re: Edge Blending

Hi,

Quick note - need to go to work!

For SOFTWARE blending
You need to "overlay" a mask on the video output......

the issue is that the tripple head does not allow for this......

What you have is ONE output that is then split into three, rather than three outputs.

The systems I know of all overlay a mask on a single output.

Is there any budget for this ???

VLC is a player - SO aybe you would stream the current output into the player.

Did you know that to do what you are asking would have cost £30,000 about four years ago

I have the price down around £4000 for a 3 way blend with hardware.

What you are trying to do in software is fairly difficult, Im still trying to find the one option that might work for you..............I have lots of old data to go through......

What is the resolution you are sending to the tripple head unit? and then resolution to each PJ? Whats you screen size?

Tank you Andy for helping. The resolution that is send to the triple head is 3840*800. Each projector resolution is 1280*800

It's a curved screen with a diameter of 3 meters and 2 meters high
