C-Elements smaller than 8" or is this an 8"

Hello
I am searching for replacement C-Elements for my 07msu tubes using the HD-215 lenses.I would like to use my 117-24 lenses but I am not sure what C-elements I will need for my tubes. I know that the C-Elements I need for the lenses were used with the HD-114/117 Lenses in Retro machines.
My tubes are mentioned in the Sony catalogue as 5,5" (Sony RVP 4010). I have never seen an 8" C-Element, so I dont know if they will fit in my chambers. My Elements are still in the tubes, so I can only provide estimated measurements. The part I can see with the adapter ring still mounted ist about 10.6cm(4.17"). The inner part with the ring removed is a bid more than 11.6cm(4.57"). Is this an 8" C-Element?
Or do exist smaller C-Elements?
For example what C-Elements are used in the 708 Retrodatas?
Where can I obtain the ones I need?

Best regards from Munich

Why do you want to replace the c elements ? Also are you looking for color filtered c elements ? Welcome to the CRT forum Marc !

Re: C-Elements smaller than 8" or is this an 8"

Hello Tom,

I would like to use other lenses than my HD215 ones. They are good, but have no corner focus. I would like to use my HD117-24 lenses if I can find their C-Elements from Barco machines (if they fit in my machines...), or other C-Elements with the corresponding lenses. Clear C-Elements would be fine, as I don´t need color filtered ones.

Best regards from Munich

As far as I know both lenses should work fine using the existing c elements.

Thanks for your links Tom! But no, HD215 and HD117 use diffrent C-ELements. THe HD215 system is very diffrent, because of the lacking corner focus :-(

Ciao

Re: C-Elements smaller than 8" or is this an 8"

The lens is different yes. But I belive all C elements fitted to the barco 808 and 708 liquid coupled projectors were the same. It is the quality of the lens that makes the difference ie corner focus and screen size etc.

The same is true of all the barco nine inch tubes. with the exception of the Barco Vision 1500 1600 and 1609 HDTV high brightness projectors that use the TOC7 lenses the others all had the same C element.

Barco never made an LC eight inch Vision projector

The part number for a retro tube is the same as for all the OEM blocks that barco made with different lenses.

I never did get to the bottom of the Cine 5 and 6 lenses and size of elements but I have a nagging thought that we used a set of HD 214 for a special project that would make them 8" too

Re: C-Elements smaller than 8" or is this an 8"

Thanks Roland!

so I will try to find the real Barco C-Elements! The ones on my Sonys came with the Delta88t lenses. The HD215 can only be mounted and start to focus when they get installed an inch away from the tubes. So I think thats not a real HD215 C-Element and this might be the reason for my HD117-24 did not work with the C-Element.

Are you the Roland selling lots of useful CRT stuff in the bay? If yes, I did contact you for the Barco C-Elements. Didn´t my mails go through the bay´s "email adress sorting out filters"?

Best regards

Marc
