Projector screen

Hi,

Thanks to the guys who gave me advice on the mounting of the HD65. I bought myself a EPW6565 and it works great (just a little too far from the screen, but have altered it for the TV connection so that does me). But I've just spotted a big problem with the actual screen today. The screen that I got free with the projector - Model: DS-9084PMG - has started to curl at the endges half way up and near the top. Its making the screen look bent at the sides.

I was just wondering if anyones got any advice on this problem.

Cheers

Re: Projector screen

A free screen is unikely to be very good unfortunately.

If you have a flat wall I would compare the screen to the wall and see how much impact the lack of flatness is having (A lot I suspect)

If its fixed a cheap solution would be to stretch and possibly staple to a frame (depending on the fabric strength)

If not I suspect looking at a better screen might be worthwhile

Thanks for that. I've contacted Optoma about this problem and the guy who's got in contact with me, he's said "this is very unusual and not something i have come across before", he's asked me to fill in a form and send it back to him with photo's if I could and they'll investigate it.

I'm now just waiting for this to get back in touch.

I'd just let ya guys know, Optoma have now been in touch with me today and they've told it the problem with the curling / curving of the screen at the sides and the folding at the bottom of the screen that I'm now getting, shouldn't be happening so they're sending out a replacement screen for me and collecting the other one via UPS. I've just got to put up with the smell for another 2 weeks I guess, but I don't mind if the curlings gone.
