Question 'Practical' screen size help requested, please

I am in the process of converting a seldom used room in my home into a cinema room. My room is not huge and my viewing distance can be from 9ft up to 12ft. I will be using all 1080p equipment. I would like to install the largest screen that I can but not at the expense of image quality. I have already purchased a 6ft wide fixed screen but the more I look at the room (and other people too) I think that a 7ft would be better (the supplier will change the screen for me). Now, I have visited lots of sites with screen size calculators incorporated into them but they tend to contradict one another, on occasions. What I would like is some real 'practical' advice from you experts on whether the 7ft will be too large for my needs. Hope you can assist me as I am starting to pull my hair out over this (what hair I have left, that is). Thank you, Paul.

Hey! thanks for that. I've had a look and I reckon that does it for me. 7ft it is.

Best wishes

You'll easily manage a 92". I sit about 12 feet from mine and it's certainly not too big. Don't have to move my head or eyes and have no strain either.
92 divided by 0.84 gives 110 which is less than 10 feet never mind 12.

Thank you for your reply - that is what I was after, some advice from someone who had been there. Regards
