My projector bleeds light on top and bottom, as screen is 16:9 and PJ is 16:10so anywhere I can get the velve used for the beamax screens so I can mask the light...

There is a thread somewhere else about using velvet to stop room reflections and some of the material came from Here. I just ordered some of the cheaper fabric as room treatment, but they sent the samples out very quickly, just waiting for the roll to arrive now.

Are you still planing on painting the screen yellow?

I got a roll of this stuff - excellent black velvet surface and sticky backed:

Fablon Sticky Back Plastic Black Velour (450mm x 10m) 65217 Adhesives Glue And Sticky Stuff Sticky Back Plastic

Sold by the metre, I got a 4M roll of this to try - a deep black felt flock with an agressive adhesive - it's the stuff Screen Goo use for masking - excellent light absorbtion. My favourite masking material at the moment.

It depends on the substrate as to which one to choose.

I want to stick it straight on a plastered brick wall, plasterboard on the wall and then paint on that, so will be stuck directly, need something which will stick good to that and a bit stiff so easy to apply on my own without it curling and easy to cut say with a kraft knife..

In that case, the fablon would be ideal - and you get plenty on a roll if you mess up - and it's easy to cut with a craft knife and metal ruler..

I think the Goo Flok is better suited to trickier situations - for instance I used it on the mask and screen surface of an electric multimask screen and it worked perfectly, whereas the Fablon wouldn't have been at all suitable.

But, yes, for a plasterboard wall, the Fablon will be perfect.

Does anyone have a couple of mtrs of the black sticky backed velour/velvet stuff I only need a couple of mtrs and it can only be bought in a roll of ten mtrs, so maybe somone out there will sell me a couple they have any left over?
