Pull up screens any good?

I have seen pull-up screens for sale but cant help thinking back to my school days where they were about as flat as a mountain range!

Are they better these days or still much better off with a pull down?

I got the optoma panovision 84 inch from Tesco for only £92. it is low pofile enough to hide under the drapes and window radiator. I am very impressed with how smooth the surface is and how discrete it is

Re: Pull up screens any good?

Yes, I've got a Beamax pull-up screen that I use for powerpoint presentations and for testing projectors. It is in a different league to the ones that you probably remember from school days.

As ever cost enters the equation. To get the same performance you will pay more for a pull-up than for a pull-down.

Any views on the X-series Dellegno screens here?

http://www.beamax.com/The-X-series-Dellegno

I love the idea of an electric rising screen but no-one seems to have them on demo in the UK?
