I spent over £1K with them last April, they were very organised and professional. I'd use them again for sure.

Re: Cvs media

Just ordered, mention avforums and you get a discount! They were polite and cuteous once having ordered, and resolved a simple error when recording my postcode. Screen came straight from the suppier, shipped Monday arrived today!

I found they did no get back to telephone requests for advice and help which imho was v.poor.

Still the prices are very competitive.

CVS Media are an active dealer on these forums with many satisfied customers. You should not have any problems with Nik at CVS Media and in the current economic climate I'm sure not getting back to someone was an oversight, I hope so anyway.

Thumbs up It's a Yes from me!

My previous Greywolf screen and my brand new Beamax screen came from them. They were very helpful in getting numberous different quotes for my special order screen (I kept changing my mind regarding surface colour, size and tab/non tab).

Their prices seemed very competative and they kept me informed of my screen's progress (only when there was something to report as it was a special order and took a while to come). I would definately say I'd use them again, but given as this screen is meant to last me (which is why I paid the extra for the tab tensioning), I hope it will be some while, though maybe for something other than a screen

I've got to agree.

I was going to order a Beamax M100 screen from them, but dropped them an e-mail to see if there were any alternatives with a 1m drop for high ceilings.

That was 4 days ago and I've not had a reply yet.

You could try emailing otto@beamax.com as I'm sure they can offer a longer drop (it would probably have to be made to order).

Otto was very helpful to me recently when I had a few questions about installing my Beamax.

Hi KelvinS

The Beamax M100 is axactly what I'm looking for with it's 1m drop. I was just wondering if any other manufacturers made something similar (other than custom made) before I ordered one. Just to give me more options.

I've had a trawl round the net but can't see anything myself.

Re: Cvs media

Hi everyone, I'm Aimi, I now work at CVSMedia and thought I it was time I introduce myself.
Nik struggles with time to spare as he’s working very hard on the website and business so we thought I should join the forum to help.
I have looked through your posts, unfortunately, we are unable to get enough samples from Beamax and other manufacturers to keep a continous supply we regularly wait weeks or more for a few samples, these are usually awaiting dispatch before they arrive wish I were able to hold stock of the samples but we are reliant on the manufacturers. Sorry! Best bet is to ask Otto to send them directly
Hope this helps
Aimz

Welcome to the forums Aimi. I know it took Beamax a while to get my sample when I was deliberating over my new screen, plus one of the 'alternatives' I tried directly never turned up at all. It makes me wonder how the manufacturers expect to sell any screens.

I hope Nik is keeping well and thanks for all your help with my recent purchase, which is now installed and being enjoyed on a regular basis.

Re: Cvs media

HI Aimz,

I made an order for a replacement optoma hd65 bulb last week, order 3625. I've not heard anything back after I've emailed a couple of times. I went with cvsmedia because it was recommended on here. I'm not bothered if it's out of stock, I'd just like to know where I stand and if I should order from someone else.

Re: Cvs media

what did you decide to do giles as i am in the same position you are. I was told they would be in already but other than that heard nothing. I understand stock levels running out which is fair enough but its been a fair while now and don't know if I should try and cancel and order elsewhere.

cheers.

Re: Cvs media

im not sure, ive looked at about 20 different sites and absolutely everywhere is sold out and expects delivery in a max of up to 28 days so maybe this is normal and its best to just keep the order with cvs. I'm gonna stick with it as even places that have the bulbs for over 200 quid are sold out so i guess its just a case of putting the order in and getting in the queue. Couldnt even find one on ebay.

Wish they'd pick the phone up or email back at least.

Re: Cvs media

Dam Lamps !!!
With certain products, we receive promises of stock, promises on dispatch, and on some occasions, promises the goods will be delivered.
It's with great regret that the dates we are promised, along with many other UK resellers, were dashed hopes due to whatever delay the distributor experiences.

Fortunately we are one of the first resellers in the UK (in May) to dispatch the HD65 lamps this week which all went out yesterday (Friday 8th May) and we booked next day deliveries.
We are now at the mercy of the couriers and can only hope they do their part successfully.

Sometimes we cannot do anything about the shipping delays our suppliers endure and I can only apologise to those whom have had to wait longer than expected.

Peace
Nik

Re: Cvs media

Thanks for the reply Nik , yeh I get the feeling most companies are really at the will of the supplier in this field. You say a load went out yesterday, I ordered on monday the 27th april so hopefully the courier will get it to me monday as I didn't hear anything today. Although I haven't had an email saying its on its way to me or anything so not sure if it had been sent.

Cheers.

I have also recently used CVS. Found them very helpful and informative, and my projector screen arrived via courier the day after I ordered it. Competitive prices too. Would definitely use them again.
