Help please - electric screen wiring?

Ok guys, got hold of an electric projector screen that comes with a remote control. Anyway the story goes...

Got it off ebay and when it arrived it was damaged. Got my money back and still have the screen. The casing is damaged but I think with a bit of patience I can knock the dents out and give it a coat of paint. Anyway, I had to remove the internals to get at the dents etc and whilst the internals were out I gave the screen a test just to make sure it was working electrically wise. First of all I noticed that there was a white wire not connected to anything. Not only that but when I press the remote there is a click coming from the receiver and nothing happens. If I connect the wire that was not connected, to one of the terminals (in between the yellow and blue wire in the photo) I am able to control the built in motor but only in one direction and that's down. If I press the up botton there is a click but nothing happens. Obviously not knowing about electric screens I'm at a loss. I've included as you can see some photos of the wiring in hope that someone can possible recognise the type of wiring and point me in the right direction

thanks in advance

Re: Help please - electric screen wiring?

Can you take picture of the whole setup ?
You just shows the bits.
Problem probably is your white wire it looks like it's connecting brown and black and as far as I'm concern they run motor up and down. They should have separate connections.
What make is the screen?

Re: Help please - electric screen wiring?

Whole setup?

Yes, I believe also that it's the white wire that's causing the problem. When it's connected the screen motor only goes one way. When it tries to go the other way there is only a single click and nothing happens? Looking at the block connector there is only one spare slot for the white wire to go to but that only makes the motor move in one direction. Only know that the screen is supplied by a chinese company by the name of Goodshin

Hi

I meant can you draw a diagram of the wiring that is connected, that way we can start from what we know and figure out what's missing.

Re: Help please - electric screen wiring?

Jason is right.
And that's what I ask for the whole setup.
We need one picture to show all the cables and were they terminate at the motor end and receiver.

Re: Help please - electric screen wiring?

Ok guys, just thought I'd give you a final update. Managed to suss out that the white wire was half of the problem. I connected up the white wire to the spare terminal connector and was only getting one way movement, as per my original post. Anyway decided to take the cylindrical tube apart and found inside of that a set of gears which judges the extremes of the screen when raising it up and down. This controlled two micro switches, one for the up limit and one for the down limit. One of the switches had reached it's limit and only allowed the screen to lower and not retract. So I played around with the adjusters and now I'm getting full movement in both directions. I'm now gonna play some more and get the adjustments spot on so when I press down on the remote the screen will automatically drop to the desired level and stop and vica versa when retracting. At the moment though the micro switches are set so they don't kick in and I have to stop the lowering and raising manually. At the moment the screen is hung in place and I'm happy with the temp solution
