Any one using one of these screens, made by Sapphire (the Mayfair series)?

The advert (see link) appears to suggest they are less prone to suffer from screen ripple. I called a retailer of these earlier today and, the seller said the motors come with a 5 year warranty and the screen material 3 years.

I have one, received it christmas eve and am actually quite impressed with the quality of it. I bought it blind after seeing the prices of some of the beamax etc. the quality of the unit itself seems very good. the remote unit looks a bit cheap but works very well and there is a manual switch on the receiver unit and is all wired up to plug straightin to the power. motor seems reasonably quiet and have got no issues with it whatsoever. I do have a very slight ripple on it but cant notice if projector is on (I only noticed it from behind )and have not had it down for a long length of time to see if it drops out. overall I am very happy with this purchase and found cvs media very efficient with their service and delivered next day as promised (even on christmas eve) also packaged really well. My projector is sony hw 10. I must add though that this is my first screen and projector so I am over the moon with the results Ive acheived for £2000 but have had nothing else to compare it too.

Seriously? Yikes, it's only a few weeks old, I'd send that back! This is what gets up my nose; a new screen with ripples, my draper was the same and the ripples have got worse (they did not drop out with use); this is why I am sending my draper back and looking for alternatives.

Hello Ben, can you tell me if the screen surface has a texture? I have the same pj as you (no screen yet). I am under the impression that a 1080p needs a fine surface screen.

yes the screen has a very slight texture to it however because I have never had a projector or screen before I do not know how much compared to other screens. seems very fine but not an expert sorry I cannot be a bit more helpful. I am very happy with the image but as before this is my first p.j. set up so have nothing to compare it with. sorry I can only comment on my opinion and this may differ from the experts.

I cannot see the ripples at all from the front I noticed it around the back so it really isn't a big deal at the moment, obviously if it gets worse then I will send it back.many thanks for your advice I will keep an eye on it.
