Rear Projecting onto shop window

Hi,

As part of a student project I am looking to rear project onto a shop window so passers by can see.

I have seen a product called Vikuiti from 3M but understand it is very very expensive, cant seem to find out exactly how much, but lots of other forums just say very expensive.

I was wondering if anyone else could suggest another way of doing this, or another product that could be used that is less expensive? I was thinking about frosted film, the type used on bathroom windows, but not sure how good the image would be to the viewer in daylight?

I really appreciate any help or advice you can offer
Thanks
Thom

Re: Rear Projecting onto shop window

What size image are you planning on projecting?
What PJ will be used?

While I have never messed with rear-projection, the "screen" used should be a thin as possible while still diffusing the image enough to prevent hot-spotting. If the screen film is too thick it will cause "ghosting" in the image.

Re: Rear Projecting onto shop window

Hi,

Im not sure which projector will be used yet, looking to replicate this over a number of different sites, so it probably won't be an expensive one unless the university are willing to lend me some. Any recommendations on the projector is also greatly appreciated

The image size will probably be smaller than 15ft x 15ft.

Thanks again
