Another Ikea 'Tupplar' Blind question...

After having a bit of cash come in (finally!) I've decide to invest in either a HD65 or 700x.

With play.com obviously out of stock of the 700x and screen combo I know many of you use/have used tupplur blinds from Ikea. Having read around a lot on here and elsewhere, I understood these blinds to be out of stock. Looking on the Ikea website however they have loads in stock: IKEA | Window textiles | Blinds | TUPPLUR | Roller blind
I just wanted to check this was the right type of blind before purchasing?

Equally I wondered if this blind will this do for a month or two until I have enough cash for a decent screen? Or do most people prefer these to actual purpose built screens?

I'm running the projector in a 16" x 12" room in an old tudor building with an average amount of light coming in although have blackout blinds and curtains on the windows. Will the Ikea blind be ok? Or is it best to invest in a proper screen? I have read a LOT of posts on this - but looking to get some sort of defintive(ish) answer

Thanks all.

Re: Another Ikea 'Tupplar' Blind question...

Thats only 100cm wide!!!!! 195cm long

You can get up to 200cm wide but yes, this is the blind everyone is refering to - just make sure your sure of the dimensions you want!!!!!

In terms of quality, much better than projecting onto a white wall

versus a "proper" screen, not sure what the difference is - i've had my tupplur for over a year now and I am delighted with the performance v cost

My PJ is a HD65 - click on my signature link to see a picture of it in use

Thanks soupdragon. Great set-up you got there!
Yeah it was just the first Tupplur I came to, I'm aware of the dimensions!
Was thinking of going for thr HD65 myself, but now going with a 700x, good to see you can use the HD65 on the coffee though from your pics. I presume this throws a decent picture? As I was advised against a coffee table placement

just don't:

1 - spill your coffee
2 - put your feet up on the table!
