Beamax A Series - frame reflection

I've just put up a Beamax A Series fixed screen replacing my Panoview pulldown and I'm pretty happy with it. However, I was disappointed to see the amount of reflection from the screen onto the inside of the frame around most of the screen.
I'm surprised I hadn't read more on this previously as it is very noticeable. Are there any tips to get round this? If not is it viable to fix material like velour or something nice and light absorbing?

Re: Beamax A Series - frame reflection

I bought a Beamax tab tensioned screen specially ordered in 2.35:1 format (so I can zoom the black bars off the top and bottom of the screen). I was dissapointed to find that the tension arms and lower bar was gloss white and even the small amount of light produced by the lower black bar caused the white to shine annoyingly. I ordered some self adhesive black velvet/velour and stuck it to the white bar, job done (it's actually 'blacker' than the screen's own border). Trouble is I can't remember where I ordered it from, but I want some more to make up my side mask panels, so I'll dig out the email order and post back later.

Re: Beamax A Series - frame reflection

That's why I've been advised to pay a little extra for the Beamax A Series Velvet.

Re: Beamax A Series - frame reflection

I would have done if I was buying new but this was a real 'spur of the moment' purchase from the classifieds purely because it was the same size as my pulldown
Anyway I took a trip to a local fabric shop this morning and got some black velour and fabric glue so I'm planning on taking it down this afternoon and sorting it out
