Screen sizes..Diagonal of Width

Hi when i eventually order a screen how are the sizes calculated is it the same as widescreen tv's [Diagonal length]. I want a widescreen format no bigger than 7ft wide including casing [how much do you add on for case?]
I will have inches to spare either side of screen so have to be carefull when ordering.

Thanx in advance

If you are talking about a screen with a size of 100" or 80", they usually mean diagonal size YES !

Most companies will also give you the length, and width of the actual screen fabric, viewable areas and the case dimensions

see This site as an example of a company that provides good dimensions and layouts of their screens,

Oh yeah, and they can customise it to your specifications as well.

And NO, i don't work for them - i have a screen on order from them
