What type of Screen?

Hello,

Im hoping to buy my first screen soon as im fed up with projecting onto blank walls! Im a bit confused as to what "type" of screen I need it's for a 4:3 Image firing from a DLP PJ.Screen size should be ether 5ft or 6ft manual Screen and wall or celing mounted.DRH do some great prices on screens and have 2 types to go for in thier slimline premium range ether Matt White or High Power? which of those would suit my PJ?

http://www.drhscreens.co.uk/slimline_matrix.asp

Now all viewing will be done at night in darkness for DVD's only and PJ is connected to HTPC as source.Budget max is £250 but of course would like to spend as little as poss(Need loads of other a/v stuff as well)

Thank's for any advice given

DINO.

I have the matt white which works perfectly in total darkness. The High Power could be used in subdued daylight but it has a more limited viewing area for getting the brightest picture.

IMO save the money and get the matt white one.

Cheers mat,

Ok so if the only diff is quality when watching in daylight I'll go wiv your recomendation and get just normal matt version Does anyone know where I can get a 5ft 4:3 diagonal though? all traders seem to start at 6ft diagonal which "may" be too big for me

DRH (and I would think most other manufacturers) can customise a screen to your specification, just give them a ring and they will give you a price for a 'special' sized screen. Also if you want to ceiling mount the screen, you should think about how much extra drop will be need to get the screen at the right viewing height.

FWIW before buying I got a sample pack of material sent to me, you could ask if they still do that. I taped the pieces to the wall and pick the one I liked best.
