Sony HD5 cracked keypad

yes sorry I missed that. I only found out about the cracks today and didn't know this forum existed till this afternoon. I have the two cracks and thought they were natural gaps to allow the buttons to work freely. I'm glad I now know differently and have been in to my Sony Centre.

They say Sony told them that the cracks were only cosmetic and nothing to worry about. The shop themselves aren't happy with that explanation and have told they are watching out for further events and say they will keep me informed.

in defence of my local Sony Centre, they were repeating what they have been told and as I said, they didn't seem too impressed by that.

I'm quite sure I'll do OK by them, I just hope Sony and retailers do their duty for everyone else who has the same problem.

It ONLY cost 200 pounds!

If that's seriously the official line from Sony then I may just have lost close to all respect for them

I agree. Before the next 6 months is up, I want a new keypad or refund. It took me 4 months to get the money to buy mine.

It'd be like a crack appearing on an LCD TV screen and Sony saying it was cosmetic there too.
