Bose SoundDock Portable vs Zeppelin Mini

Evening Gents

I'm having a conundrum as to which of the above I should buy for my kitchen

I am yet to hear either, but both get rave reviews, and the Bose has a rechargeable battery allowing me to take anywhere

Has anybody got either of these and can comment?

My nearest Apple Store is 120 miles away so a trip to see both in action is not an easy experiment

Cheers

Marcus

Have a gander over on YouTube mate, lots if videos of both on there

I know the Bose sounds good and is bassy which is what I like, the Zep Mini apparantly makes bad encodes sound awful which is no good to me as a lot of my collection is converted from DAT tapes (I was into the rave scene as a teen )

the above coupled with the fact the Bose can go anywhere with me makes it an outright winner in my opinion

I think the looks of the Zep Mini are a bit hit and miss also, and the wife would be forever dusting that chrome top part

if I'm wrong I'll just send it back under the 30 day terms

Bose.com

30 day trial is a no brainer, I have a 1st gen dock, it's punchy, but the Zepp is a beast and the price also, luckly I have a place in the USA so bit cheaper here.

The portable is £50 more than the Mini, but it is worth that just for the fact you can take it out in the garden in the summer

Well, the SD Portable turned up this morning and all I can say is wow

The thing is superb! I have a Wave in the dining room and bedroom and it is easily as good as it, plus it is portable!

The bass is very good, and where I have it situated in the corner in the kitch makes it sound even better!

My father has the full size Zep, and I will admit it does not sound as good, but then it is 1/3 the size and you can use it anywhere

No regrets here, and from what the Zep mini looked and sounded like I dont think Bose have anything to worry about.................
