best new mp3 player

Hi,

Like everyone I am wondering what to buy.

My current list is as follows :

1. Ipod touch 32/64gb
2. Cowon s9 32gb
3. Sony X-series (no bluetooth, I know)
4. Sony A-series (due soon)
5. Creative X-fi 2.

It tricky finding anywhere that stocks them all to try out so what do people think.

I think sound quality, flac support, gapless playback, bluetooth are on my tick list. I have stayed away from ipods before but these days just so many products feature a docking port that it seems almost silly not to get one.

I really like the look of sonys new alarm clock also which has a dock but I don't know if it has a dock for it's own mp3 players.

Thanks in advance.

Sound quality is my top priority and I'm holding off for a 64gb Cowon whether it be the S9 (or a new model) before I decide between this and either of the Sony's you mention.

I have the X1060 and love it, as the sound quality is superb, the interface is great for me, especially the touchscreen and the screen itself is the best that I've seen.

The browser seems a lot better after the firmware update as well.

Well I thought about this alot for the Mrs and went for a Sony NWZX1060B in the end for work commute, holidays etc, mainly for the video and decent sound quality plus a 8gb clip for running and the gym.

Amazon are doing the for Sony NWZX1060B for £192 delivered + free £80 dock until 6th december plus there is a £50 cash back offer from sony as well. That is some deal if you get the cashback £142 with the dock (claimed value £80) vs £220 for a 32 gb 3rd gen ipdo touch. The screen is better on the sony the sound quality is better, it will definately be better made. Its smaller and lighter.

Yes you get the apps and games on the ipod and the interface is amazing, I just cant get past my complete hatrid of all things apple and actually buy one.

I'm deciding between this and the iTouch. I already have a iPod dock for my Onkyo and was wondering if the video recording dock you get free allows you to connect to an amp and play music? I'm going abroad in a couple of weeks and can get the iTouch 32gb for £200.
