Re: nano 4g compatible speaker dock ?????

Was told by comet that the bose sounddock product code 509710 priced at £145.83 does and the one review of this dock also mentions that it does.

Re: nano 4g compatible speaker dock ?????

I thought the same, The bloke in the store was sure that it supported the 4th gen nano. I have one on order and will be collecting it this weekend. I will take the ipod to the store and make sure that it charges the ipod before i buy it.They do have 2 sounddocks that look the same the only differance was the product code.He said that they do look and perform the same but one fully supports the new ipods and the other only plays and will not charge new ipods.

Re: nano 4g compatible speaker dock ?????

Hi big_al,
I have been looking at this as well. When my husband went down to check the compatibility with the new
ipod 4g the first thing written on the details is that it will
not charge the new ipods.
The only one we can see at the moment is the Bose which
is the £200 plus model and is too expensive for the charging option in our opinion anyway.
If you do find one please let me know.
Kind regards,
Sue.

Why dont 4th Gen Nano's charge on some docking stations???

Seems crazy that Apple would change the new ipods?

My daughter had a 4th gen Nano for Xmas and was looking at Logic 3 i-station 7 or 8. But we have been told that it will play the Nano but not charge it!

Can anybody explain why, and also how do we know we are buying one that will charge it?!!

Re: Why dont 4th Gen Nano's charge on some docking stations???

Although I'm sure they would justify it a different way - I think the "why" is probably because we'll all have to buy new accessories now, and hence help line Apple's pockets.

It's extremely annoying. My touch won't charge in the car now.

I followed this link IPOD - Logic 3 i-Station 7 White Speakers and according to Curry's both will.
The model 8 will also sync your ipod to itunes where a lot won't.
Hope this helps.

Re: nano 4g compatible speaker dock ?????

Interesting thread, I was about to buy an Intempo iDS-05 but they seem to be only sold by Amazon with a 1-2 mth potential wait time. (plus I don't know if they charge !).

May look at the 4 houseparty 4 in that case.

Re: nano 4g compatible speaker dock ?????

I went to Comets today and bought the Bose sounddock which was £145. I did see one at £125 and another at over £200 but couldn't see any difference in looks between the two cheaper ones.
This one charges my new ipod nano 4g...the only down side
is that you can't navigate on the remote control. All you can do is play and stop fast forward next and last track.
Beautiful tone to it and I'm well pleased...not sure about my neighbours though.
